Daphne Oram – Rotolock {1968}

Daphne Oram was a pioneer of electronic music and was part of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. She invented the “Oramics” technique allowing the composer to draw symbols on paper and the machine produced the sounds from them. Here’s a 40-minute documentary about her. Check her incredible soundtrack for the short film Snow, too. She died in 2003 aged 77, may she rest in peace.
