Rachid & Fethi – Habit-en ich {197x}

I was sure to have heard this song before and thanks to the omniscient internet and the notorious Radio Diffusion blog, I found out. It’s the wonderful track “Leylim Leylim” by the Turkish band Fikret Kizilok from 1972. I have no idea who was first or if this might be a traditional song. “Habit-en ich” appears on the pretty good compilation “1970s Algerian Folk & Pop” published by Forced Exposure. Rachid & Fethi apparently were pioneers of electronic music too (1976!), as you can see and hear here.
